There's good hiking along the Highgrade Trail, and why not camp at Larry Flat Campground since you're here at Upper Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Owl Creek Trail, and Budget Inn - Lakeview is a perfect location to get some rest. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Warner Mountains. The Crane Mountain National Recreation Trail       offers hiking at its best; camping at Upper Lake is perfect fun, Stough Campground is a perfect local campground. The Warner Mountains scenery is always beautiful. High temperatures at Upper Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Upper Lake.
