    If you are in Tuolumne county it's always a good idea to stop by Upper Gaylor Lake. The warmest time of the year at Upper Gaylor Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 30's. For the period of the wintertime highs are typically in the 40's; through the dark hours in the wintertime at Upper Gaylor Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Tenaya Creek, and dry warm beds await  
   you at Heidelberg Inn. Not much rainfall falls here at Upper Gaylor Lake; January is the month that gets the most snow; the driest month is October.
Upper Gaylor Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Gaylor Lakes Trail, and why not camp at Tioga Campground since you're here at Upper Gaylor Lake. Do set aside some time for Dana Meadows since you're here at Upper Gaylor Lake.
 
               Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Upper Gaylor Lake; Pacific Crest Trail - section 12 is a tremendous local trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Junction Campground is a brilliant spot to camp. Near Upper Gaylor Lake you come across Glacier Canyon which is a brilliant site to check out, and Yosemite Gateway Motel is a wonderful place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Mine Creek flows through this vicinity, and charming scenery and great skiing is what you get at June Mountain.
So much exciting stuff to do at Upper Gaylor Lake, so little time. Gaylor Peak can be observed from Upper Gaylor Lake; Gaylor Lakes is a nearby lake that you could visit. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. There's good hiking along the John Muir Trail - section 2, and a lake close by is Granite Lakes.
