Upper Echo Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. That right there is plenty of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. The Hawley Grade Trail       offers hiking at its best; Angora Peak is easy to spot from Upper Echo Lake. This lake is so wonderful. On a lovely day you can check out Pope Beach right next door to Upper Echo Lake; Huckleberry Flat is a delightful place to check out. You completely have to fancy Upper Echo Lake. At Upper Echo Lake you always meet someone from Gardnerville Ranchos; why not take a refreshing hike along the General Creek Trail. A day at pretty Kiva Beach close to Upper                  Echo Lake is a great thing to do, and if you came for an overnight stay Firs Campground is a splendid spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Silver Creek - South Fork has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by, and dry warm beds await you at Pine Cone Acre Motel. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. If you need a location to stay Pistantes Coyote Den is a magnificent choice, and do take a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 14. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Kirkwood is right next door to Upper Echo Lake; if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Lakes? Sure, Angora Lakes is close by; a day on the slopes of Sierra at Tahoe is just what you need. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Upper Echo Lake get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 40's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 40's while Upper Echo Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Tahoe Paradise Golf Course is a fine golf course nearby. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Saucer Lake; Fortyfive Mile Campground is a pleasant campground nearby.
