Union Valley Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Any time is a tremendous time at Union Valley Reservoir if you fancy the outdoors. American River - South Fork has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby, and why not a little side journey to Big Silver Creek. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Union Valley       Reservoir reach the 90's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Union Valley Reservoir. Union Valley Reservoir gets a large amount of water; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is mostly the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the Northern Sierra Nevada. A great nearby hotel is Best Western Stagecoach Inn, and                  pretty scenery and brilliant skiing is what you acquire at Alpine Meadows. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Hunsucker Trail, and Sunset Campground is a great campground nearby. The summit of Deer Knob can be seen from Union Valley Reservoir; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Ellicott Trail. So many fun things in the Northern Sierra Nevada, just incredible. Paddling on American River - South Fork is so much fun; Union Valley Reservoir is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Yellow Jacket Campground is a magnificent spot to camp nearby.
