The beauty of Union Reservoir is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Union Reservoir is right by the Emigrant Trail, and Slick Rock is an out of the ordinary spot to pop by while at Union Reservoir. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13.

| | there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Really great skiing awaits you at Dodge Ridge, and while you're here, you could also have a look at pretty Elephant Rock Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Union Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Alpine Campground is a nice place for that. the one that snows the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Take a hike on the Charity Valley Trail, and Union Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Silver Valley Campground is
a great local campground. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Duck Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth a visit, and skiing at Bear Valley is one of those things you just have to do. At Union Reservoir
during the days of summer highs are in the 60's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Union Reservoir nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in
the 10's.
So many amusing things right next door to Union Reservoir, simply fantastic. If you come at the right time of year, Mokelumne River - North Fork offers some tremendous whitewater, and Sapps Meadow is a great place to check out.
