The warmest time of the year at Union Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 60's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. visiting mood you can always go to nearby Utica Reservoir, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Really fine skiing awaits you at Dodge Ridge; why not a little side trip to
Duck Creek. Man, is there a load of amusing things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds await you at The Meadow, and Stanislaus River - Middle Fork has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
Camping is available at Lake Alpine Campground, and skiing at Bear Valley is one of those things you just must do. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Why not camp at Silver Valley Campground since you're here at Union Reservoir, and delightful hiking is available along the Emigrant Trail.
