There are some great whitewater spots on American River - South Fork, and why not camp at Pyramid Campground while you're here at Twin Lakes. All through the summer months highs here at Twin Lakes get into the 70's while overnight lows are regularly in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Twin Lakes tend to be in the 10's.       Hiking along the Highland Trail is delightful fun; there are plenty of folks from Gardnerville Ranchos here at Twin Lakes. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Northern Sierra Nevada has to offer. If you need a location to stay The Meadow is a great choice, and if you've had enough of Twin Lakes, Boomerang Lake is nearby. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Northern Sierra Nevada is unbeatable! A perfect panorama of wonderful                  Blue Mountain is available from Twin Lakes; nearby you locate tremendous sites like Rockbound Pass. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. The snow is nice at Homewood; camping is available at Thirty-nine Mile Campground. Twin Lakes gets a normal amount of rainfall; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Twin Lakes is right by the Windmiller Trail, and after a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff next to Twin Lakes. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sierra at Tahoe, and you're possibly hooked on lakes, Hemlock Lake is one of those nearby.
