This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges. Days Inn Arcata CA is a tremendous spot to get some rest, and paddling on Klamath River is so much fun. But wait, there's more to do close to Turtle Lake. Cold Spring is always fun to check out. Burrill Peak is a peak you can see from Turtle Lake, and going for a hike on the Horse Ridge National Scenic Trail is always       a great adventure. Turtle Lake is a wet location that gets a lot of precipitation; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest. Through the summer highs here at Turtle Lake reach the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's with temperatures at Turtle Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Camping at Turtle Lake is good fun, Aikens Creek Campground is a good local campground, and Bens Creek is near Turtle Lake and is always a delight to take a look at. This lake is so wonderful.
