    Go to Tunnel Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. You could also check out Summit Lake while you're here at Tunnel Reservoir; it's nearby, and a magnificent place to camp here at Tunnel Reservoir is Hawkins Landing Campground. All the water falling down from the sky makes Tunnel Reservoir a wet place; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. You completely have  
   to go for the Southern Cascade Range. There are tremendous places to look at along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17, and if you've had enough of Tunnel Reservoir, Pit Six Reservoir is close by.
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Tunnel Reservoir; the nighttime is a bit chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. For the period of the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Tunnel Reservoir tend to be in the
 
               20's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Nelson Flat Trail, and paddling on Pit River is so much fun.
And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do right next door to Tunnel Reservoir. Don't leave Tunnel Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Rough and Ready Trail, and naturally Nelson Creek flows through this area. Tunnel Reservoir is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Deep Creek Campground is a wonderful local campground; at Pit Five Dam right next door to Tunnel Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see. Man, is there a load of enjoyable stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. A spree to Kinner Falls will fill your spirit with glorious feelings, and glide down the rapids of Pit River in a kayak.
This lake is so wonderful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Mount Shasta.

While it was not anything special or out of the ordinary, the staff was friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere was very family friendly. I would suggest Fowlers to any family wanting just a nice vacation together, but if you are a camping enthusiast and are used to having high standards for your camping experience, you may want to search around a bit more before you decide to stay at Fowlers as it may be a bit more mediocre than what you are used to camping at. ...
