Looking for some flowing water? Try Little Papoose Creek; Palace of the Oaks is a nice local forest. Be careful coming to the Klamath Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a glorious national park; a good place nearby is Bear Gulch. And if that's not sufficient, there's a heap more to do next to Trinity       Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clear Creek Sacramento Tributary, and why not camp at Tunnel Rock Campground since you're here at Trinity Lake. This lake is a great place to visit. There's whitewater on Trinity River for all you thrill seekers, and Papoose Arm is close at hand and always magnificent to take a look at. That right there is a lot of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Klamath Mountains has                  it all. Do stop at Trinity Dam if you're here at Trinity Lake. Summertime highs at Trinity Lake generally tend to be in the 90's while night lows are typically in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Trinity Lake are in the 20's. Redding Ca Travelodge is a wonderful spot to get some rest; a good spot to camp here at Trinity Lake is Ackerman Campground.
