There are other locations here than Tollhouse Lake, for example Secret Lake, and if you need a place to stay Chalet View Lodge is a glorious choice. Camping at Silver Tip Campground is always a good experience; since you're here, you could check out French Creek. Tollhouse Lake is a relatively wet place regularly with a good deal of rainfall; January is when you get the most rain       here, and the driest month is July. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. A day on the slopes of Royal Gorge is just what you need, and you can go for a hike on the Glacier Lakes Trail. All the outdoors exciting stuff near Tollhouse Lake will keep you coming back time and again. Whitewater paddling is great on Fordyce Creek, and English Meadow is a beautiful location any time of year. From Tollhouse Lake you obtain a nice view of Hartley                  Butte, and the skiing at Soda Springs is great. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Yuba River - South Fork, and during your visit here you'll meet some folks from Truckee-Grass Valley for sure. This place, the Northern Sierra Nevada, has so much outdoors amusing things. A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express TRUCKEE, and magnificent hiking is available along the Grouse Ridge Trail. Having a good time at Tollhouse Lake is easy. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Jackson Point Campground. Lakes? Sure, French Lake is in the neighborhood. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Tollhouse Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's.
