     From a rain point of view Thompson Lake is a reasonably common spot; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest month of the year is July. A good location in close proximity to Thompson Lake is Haskins Valley, and after a long day outdoors Bailey Creek Cottages is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Yep, outdoors amusing things truly is plentiful here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Yellow Creek Trail,  
   and why not go to nearby Haskins Creek while you're here at Thompson Lake.
During the summertime months at Thompson Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Thompson Lake tend to be in the 20's. Thompson Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. So many enjoyable things close to Thompson Lake, definitely
 
               mind-boggling. Thompson Lake is right by the Cleghorn Bar Trail; there are other sites here than Thompson Lake, for example Bucks Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Claremont Trail. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Feather River - North Fork, and you can stay the night at Sundew Campground. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Haskins Bay is rather close to Thompson Lake; lakes are such calm spots, why not have a look at Grizzly Lake.
While you're here at Thompson Lake it's a tremendous idea to pop by Cedar Flat. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Thompson Lake has to offer, you can camp at Bucks Lodge Campground.

Cool Springs Campground is owned by PG&E and managed by American Land and Leisure (AL&L). You may contact AL&L, at 530-284-1785, from May to October. No reservations are taken for camping. Cool Springs is generally open from early May through mid-September. The heaviest use is between mid-June through mid-August. Butt Lake is a great fishing lake. Motorboats are allowed but no skiing or jet skis. There is a nice rock\sand beach for playing....
