    Go to Terrace Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Around Terrace Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls during December, and the driest month of the year is July. For the period of the months of summer here at Terrace Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Terrace Lake. Man, is there a lot of cool things  
   to do close to Terrace Lake. If you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Central is a glorious choice; you can stay the night at Gumboat Campground.
Holiday Inn Express WEED (MOUNT SHASTA AREA) is a splendid location to get some rest, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Sisson Calahan National Recreation Trail. If only every location had this much outdoors fun things, what a great world it would be. This lake is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on
 
               the splendid whitewater of Trinity River - East Fork; Devils Gulch is also a perfect place to look at.
Terrace Lake is right by the Castle Lake Trail, and you can run the rapids of Sacramento River. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Terrace Lake has to offer, you can camp at Castle Lake Campground, and do visit Cliff Lake, it's a striking lake. A spree to Devils Pocket revives the spirit, and the top of Boulder Peak is easily spotted from Terrace Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. No need to travel far to have a look at out of the ordinary stuff like Panther Rock, and the Echo Lake Trail offers hiking at its best. What would winter be without some skiing at Mount Shasta, and Lower Cliff Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at.

Pollard Flat Campground (USFS has been closed for over 10 years.  The closed campground is within 100 feet of the Interstate Highway.  The Day Use area/River access that is about 1/2 mile upstream is a very nice spot for put in/out....

Beehive campground is pretty good, little rocky and if the water is down that can be a problem. The do have several outhouses there and it is easy to get to. Gregory Creek is better but has been closed for many years due to the eagles nesting. Invest in wasp traps!
