Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yuba River - North Fork; going for a hike on the Butcher Ranch Trail is always a glorious adventure. These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing things to do in the Northern       Sierra Nevada. Dry warm beds await you at Deer Creek Inn, and camping at Packsaddle Campground is always a tremendous experience. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Royal Gorge, and Packer Lake Saddle is also a pleasant spot to look at. Tamarack Lakes is a good spot of typical precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. Near Tamarack Lakes you stumble on                  the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15 which is a perfect hiking trail; you'll meet a lot of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here. Do pop by Young America Lake close to Tamarack Lakes, it's a picturesque lake, and you don’t have to go far from Tamarack Lakes to make out the water at Packer Dam. You truly have to like the Northern Sierra Nevada. Packer Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and on a wonderful day you obtain a magnificent sight of Sierra Buttes from Tamarack Lakes. Man, is there a lot of exciting things to do in the neighborhood of Tamarack Lakes. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Soda Springs since you're here. For the duration of the long summer days, highs usually are in the 90's at Tamarack Lakes; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Highs throughout the winter are commonly in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Tamarack Lakes plunge into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
