This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Butcher Ranch Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Yuba River - North Fork. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are in fact plentiful here at Tamarack Lakes. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Royal Gorge. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll need       more than a day to explore everything Tamarack Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Packsaddle Campground, and the snow is brilliant at Soda Springs.
