Why not camp at Gumboat Campground if you're here at Tamarack Lake, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Grey Rock Lake. Around Tamarack Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is December while July is usually the driest month. This is a nice area for folks who like lakes. Twin Lakes is a lake in the vicinity. Summertime highs at Tamarack Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. All through

| | the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Tamarack Lake are in the 20's. Hiking along the Castle Lake Trail is magnificent fun, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Tree House Motor Inn. spots on Sacramento River. This lake is so wonderful. Sardine Spring is a beautiful site to take a look at while you're at Tamarack Lake; everyone close by loves skiing at Mount Shasta. Baker Hollow is a splendid place here at
Tamarack Lake, and a pleasant place to camp here at Tamarack Lake is Pollard Flat Campground. Have a good hiking adventure along the Crags Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Trinity River - East Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Echo Lake Trail, and Dunsmuir Travelodge is a glorious spot to get some rest.

 | 13 miles away Beehive campground is pretty good, little rocky and if the water is down that can be a problem. The do have several outhouses there and it is easy to get to. Gregory Creek is better but has been closed for many years due to the eagles nesting. Invest in wasp traps!
