Tamarack Lake is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. At Tamarack Lake you can observe Chicken Hawk Hill, and if you need a site to stay Dunsmuir Travelodge is a splendid choice. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Tamarack Lake rocks! You can run the rapids of Trinity River - East Fork in close proximity to Tamarack Lake; Baker Hollow is a glorious location here at Tamarack Lake. | | Flat Campground is a great local campground, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Echo Lake Trail. Not much rain falls here at Tamarack Lake; during December this area sees the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Dunsmuir, and a trip to Tamarack Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Sardine Spring. Mount Shasta has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. | |

Going for a hike on the Castle Lake Trail is always a great adventure, and Sacramento River is a great whitewater spot close by. There are other places here than Tamarack Lake, for example Twin Lakes, and camping at Gumboat Campground
is always a fine experience. At Tamarack Lake through the warm months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and night lows during the winter
for Tamarack Lake tend to be in the 20's. Grey Rock Lake is a nice lake in close proximity to Tamarack Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Crags Trail.

 | 13 miles away Beehive campground is pretty good, little rocky and if the water is down that can be a problem. The do have several outhouses there and it is easy to get to. Gregory Creek is better but has been closed for many years due to the eagles nesting. Invest in wasp traps!
