The top of Jeff Davis Peak is easily distinguished from Tamarack Lake. Man, is there plenty of fun things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Very good water scenery is available at Summit Lake Dam close to Tamarack Lake, and after a long day outdoors Creekside Lodge is a great location to spend a night or two. Tamarack Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada.       This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13, and Tamarack Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Middle Creek Campground is a perfect local campground. Be careful coming to Tamarack Lake, you might not ever wanna return back home again. There's so much to do here at Tamarack Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lower Blue Lake Campground is a great place for that, and get yourself into a kayak and hit                  Carson River - East Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Border Ruffian Flat is a stunning spot any time of year, and the slopes of Bear Valley are so inviting noone can resist. So much exciting stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too good to be true. Kirkwood is a great local ski area, and dry warm beds await you at Woodfords Inn. Near Tamarack Lake you come across the Charity Valley Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and Tamarack Lake is a place with many visitors from Gardnerville Ranchos. Going for a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail is always a good adventure, and if you get bored of Tamarack Lake you could also pop by close by Hellhole Lake. For the period of the summertime months, highs frequently are in the 70's at Tamarack Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for Tamarack Lake.
