A visit to Sword Lake is always a good idea. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Get drenched paddling on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and you're sure to bump into some friendly folks from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge here. This lake is so wonderful.
Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. While you're here at Sword Lake, you could also check out striking Burgson Lake, and there's no such thing as a bad day of

| | skiing at close by Dodge Ridge. This lake is so wonderful. Sword Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Silver Valley Campground is a good local campground, and magnificent skiing awaits you at Bear Valley. All through the warm months at Sword Lake temperatures are usually in the 60's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's while Sword Lake overnight low temperatures | |

This place, Sword Lake, it definitely has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Float down the rapids of Mokelumne River - North Fork in a kayak, and going for a hike on the Charity Valley
Trail is always a great adventure. And that's not all the things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you came to camp Niagra Campground is a pleasant location to do that; the Emigrant Trail is a pleasant hiking trail nearby.
Spicer Meadow Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could visit, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13.
Sword Lake gets lots of water; January is when you get the most snow here; the driest month is July.
