Highs throughout the wintertime are ordinarily in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures       at Swamp Lake sink into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Stanislaus River - North Fork, and going for a hike on the Emigrant Trail is always a fine adventure. People from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge love to come to Swamp Lake, and Bear Valley has splendid slopes and a friendly staff. Get                  your heart beating on the perfect whitewater of Mokelumne River - North Fork; do take a look at Lake Moran, it's a striking lake.
