While you're here at Sunset View Reservoir, you could also pop by pretty Alta Hill Reservoir, and The Punchbowl is a beautiful location any time of year. A common amount of rain falls here at Sunset View Reservoir; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month is July. Going for a hike on the Humbug Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Go for a hike on the Lafayette Ridge Trail, and the vista       of beautiful Gold Hill is great. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Sunset View Reservoir is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Snow Mountain Camp LTD is a pleasant local campground, and nearby you stumble on the South Yuba Trail which is a great hiking trail. Sunset View Reservoir is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Yuba River - South Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and a perfect                  nearby hotel is Stagecoach Motel. Summertime highs at Sunset View Reservoir usually tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, typically in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Sunset View Reservoir. And if that's not enough there's a heap more amusing things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Slate Creek from Sunset View Reservoir is painless; if you came to camp Nevada County Fairgrounds is a good place to do that.
