If you are traveling by, why not stop by Summit Lake. Summit Lake gets very little precipitation; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July. There are other sites here than Summit Lake, for example Dwight Hammond Reservoir, and Summit Lake is a wonderful place to visit for more than one day, Hi-lo Motel and RV Park is a wonderful place to camp nearby. If the weather is beautiful, you get a great sight of Black Butte from Summit Lake, and a great place like Mills Meadow here at Summit Lake is too great to miss. All through the warm months highs here at Summit Lake reach the 90's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the
40's while the cold winter nights at Summit Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Sacramento River, and not far from Summit Lake you'll find Abrams Lake which is a beautiful lake.
