The beauty of Summit Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Summit Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Deep Creek Campground is a perfect place for that, and at Summit Lake you can distinguish Chalk Mountain. All through the summertime here at Summit Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. All through
the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Summit Lake plunge into the 20's. Man, is there loads of exciting stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. While you're here at Summit Lake, you could also have a look at beautiful Pit Four Reservoir, and you can run the rapids of Pit River.
A large amount of rainfall falls at Summit Lake; January is when you get the most rain here, and July is the

month with the least moisture. You're sure to run into some smiling folks from Redding here, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Pit River. Summit Lake is located in the Southern Cascade Range.
Now, you may feel that's lots but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Summit Lake. Pit Four Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Rough and Ready Trail. Summit Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Rim Campground is a good local campground, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Coal Mine Trail. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Southern Cascade Range, too pleasant to be true. While you're here at Summit Lake you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 17.

Fowlers Campground
19 miles away
This campground is definitely one that I have thoroughly enjoyed staying. While it was not anything special or out of the ordinary, the staff was friendly and accomodating and the atmosphere was very family friendly. I would suggest Fowlers to any family wanting just a nice vacation together, but if you are a camping enthusiast and are used to having high standards for your camping experience, you may want to search around a bit more before you decide to stay at Fowlers as it may be a bit more mediocre than what you are used to camping at. ...
