Do pop by Fourth Lake near Summit Lake, it's a pretty lake, and Devils Postpile National Monument is a good place close by. Summit Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, First Falls Campground is a great local campground, and since you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Black Lake. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is bountiful here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Contact Pass is       a great site to explore nearby, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Kings River - Middle Fork. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. Sam Mack Meadow is a good place here at Summit Lake, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 11. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Summit Lake with night lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are generally in the 50's, and nighttime                  lows in the 20's for Summit Lake. Summit Lake is regularly a quite dried up spot; the month with most of the rain is January while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. If you need a spot to stay Days Inn Bishop is a tremendous choice, and the top of Mount Gayley is easily made out from Summit Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Second Falls Campground is a good place to do that, and going for a hike along the Kings River Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful.
