     You're most likely interested in lakes, Mud Lake is one of those nearby, and the peak of Elephant Rock can be made out from Summit Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Summit Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Silver Valley Campground is a great local campground; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Dodge Ridge is rather near. Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a magnificent time. The Meadow is a delightful site to get some rest; hiking  
   is a popular thing to do around Summit Lake; Charity Valley Trail is a nice local trail.
This lake is so wonderful. This is a glorious vicinity for folks who like lakes. Elephant Rock Lake is a lake in the vicinity, and great hiking is available along the Emigrant Trail. There are some great whitewater spots on Stanislaus River - Middle Fork, and camping at Pine Marten Campground is always a wonderful experience. The snow is good at Bear Valley.

               the warm days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 60's at Summit Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Summit Lake temperatures drop to the 10's. All the outdoors cool things in the Northern Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back many times. Wilderness Creek is a lovely stream that is worth checking out, and there's great hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13. You feel that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. A glorious close by hotel is The Mountain Club, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mokelumne River - North Fork.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Summit Lake a wet spot; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest of the months is July. Summit Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
