Summit Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Carson River - East Fork, and the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 offers hiking at its best. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Summit Lake. A great close by hotel is Woodfords Inn, and there's wonderful hiking along the Charity Valley Trail. And that's not everything there is

| | to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Summit Lake without first going for a hike along the Burnside Lake Trail, and why not head up to Heavenly and strap some skis to your feet.
Throughout the months of summer here at Summit Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Summit Lake are in the 10's. | |

This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Kirkwood is just what you need. Camping at Turtle Rock Campgrounds is always a nice experience; at Summit Lake you always meet someone from Gardnerville Ranchos.
Not much rainfall
falls here at Summit Lake; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There are other places here than Summit Lake, for example Curtz Lake, and
Summit Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Indian Creek Campground is a great local campground. Summit Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Creekside Lodge is a great choice, and Randall Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out.
