    A visit to Summit Lake is always a good idea. That right there is plenty already, but it carries on; Summit Lake has it all. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MINDEN is a good site to spend a night or two, and glide down the rapids of Carson River - East Fork in a kayak. So many cool things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too fine to be true. A lovely lake like Stevens Lake close to Summit Lake is a fine site to explore,  
   and do visit Randall Creek if you're here at Summit Lake. For the duration of the warm months at Summit Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Summit Lake.
This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Indian Creek Campground is a great local campground,
 
               and why not take a refreshing hike along the Burnside Lake Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Heavenly is just what you need, and Curtz Lake is a splendid lake close by. Summit Lake is usually a reasonably dried out place; January is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month of the year is July. Man, is there a lot of cool things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Take a hike on the Charity Valley Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Minden Inn.
You'll meet a lot of folks from Gardnerville Ranchos here; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Kirkwood is reasonably near. Hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 13 is nice fun, and Summit Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Turtle Rock Campgrounds is a good place to camp nearby.
