     The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Truckee-Grass Valley here. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Stumpy Meadows Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Ghost Mountain RV Campground; do take a hike on the Pigeon Roost Trail.
These mountains rock, just check out all the amusing things to do in the
 
   Northern Sierra Nevada. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Mark Edson Dam, and you can stay the night at Vista Overflow Campground. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork; after a long day outdoors NATIONAL 9 INN is a nice place to spend a night or two. Ballard Ravine is a tremendous spot to stop at close to Stumpy Meadows Reservoir; do visit Brush Creek Reservoir, it's  
               a stunning lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Rubicon River is a good whitewater spot in close proximity to Stumpy Meadows Reservoir, and hiking along the Grizzly Canyon Trail is wonderful fun. This lake is so wonderful. Best Western Stagecoach Inn is a great spot to get some rest; you'll discover a lovely lake called Stumpy Meadows Lake. For the duration of the warm months at Stumpy Meadows Reservoir temperatures are typically in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Stumpy Meadows Reservoir dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights.
Stumpy Meadows Reservoir is a wet site that gets a lot of precipitation; January is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Belix Trail, and Stumpy Meadows is a lovely location any time of year.
