If the weather is perfect here at Steelhead Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and tremendous skiing awaits you at Mammoth Mountain. At Steelhead Lake during the long summer days highs are in the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Steelhead       Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Steelhead Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Crowley Campground, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by June Mountain. Yeah, come up here to the Central Sierra Nevada for a great time. Mono Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot close by, and if you need a place to stay Mammoth Creek Inn is a nice choice. Steelhead Lake is located in the Central Sierra Nevada. It is very dry here at Steelhead Lake frequently; the month with most of the rain is January while June is commonly the driest month. Paddling on San Joaquin River - South Fork is so much fun; Steelhead Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Upper McGee Creek Campground is a great spot to camp nearby. Dry warm beds await you at Mammoth Lakes Travelodge; the Mammoth Rock Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
