Starr King Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Pines Campground is a good local campground; the panoramas at Yosemite National Park will blow your mind. Starr King Lake is a wet place that gets       lots of rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly January, that's the one that rains the most while July is commonly the driest month. For the period of the summer months here at Starr King Lake, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Starr King Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Tenaya Creek is a fine whitewater spot                  in the vicinity of Starr King Lake; Starr King Lake is right by the Clouds Rest Trail. Now, you may imagine that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Starr King Lake. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yosemite Creek; the top of Mount Broderick is easily distinguished from Starr King Lake. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Badger Pass if you're here, and a brilliant close by hotel is dnc -- Wawona Hotel. This lake is so wonderful.
