    Do stop by Starkweather Lake while you're in this part of California. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Sierra Nevada. A great place to stop at near Starkweather Lake is Deadman Pass, and Starkweather Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Minaret Falls Campground is a great local campground. Be careful coming to the Central Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return home again. There's whitewater on Mono Creek for all you adrenaline  
   people, and Reds Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit.
During the summer months at Starkweather Lake highs are regularly in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Starkweather Lake. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Central Sierra Nevada. If time allows, Devils Postpile National
 
               Monument is a national park worth going to. That right there is loads of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Central Sierra Nevada has it all. A lake close by is Sotcher Lake; don’t forget to pop by Agnew Meadows while you're here at Starkweather Lake.
You can see Minaret Summit from Starkweather Lake, and glorious skiing awaits you at Mammoth Mountain. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in the vicinity of Starkweather Lake. On a great day at Starkweather Lake you can take a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail; dry warm beds await you at 1849 Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Mammoth Rock Trail; camping at Reds Meadow Campground is always a perfect experience.
And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining stuff just keep reading. You can never get enough of the great skiing at June Mountain, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend San Joaquin River - Middle Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Minaret Creek flows through this area, and since you're here you can take a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2. This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Minaret Falls since you're here at Starkweather Lake; after a long day outdoors Snowbird Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two.
An average amount of precipitation falls at Starkweather Lake; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is June.
