A visit to Star Lakes is always a good idea. Star Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Central Sierra Nevada. Summertime at Star Lakes arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Star Lakes. And that's not all you can do here at Star Lakes. The summit of Mount Raymond can be seen from Star Lakes; there are fine spots to explore along the Chilnualna Fall Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Star Lakes has to offer, you can camp at Little Sandy Campground; don't leave Star Lakes without first going for a hike along the Mono Meadow Trail.

Dome Campground, and whitewater paddling is perfect on Merced River - South Fork.

is a fine choice. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Badger Pass are so inviting nobody can resist; glorious hiking is available along the Buena Vista Trail. The amount of rain that falls at Star Lakes is close to the national
average; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
