There's whitewater on Dinkey Creek for all you adrenaline people, and there's good hiking along the Bobs Flat Trail. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Central Sierra Nevada is peerless! Brown Peak can be distinguished from Sportsman Lake. If you came to camp Buck Meadow Campground is a glorious spot to do that, and don't leave Sportsman Lake without first going for a hike along the Deep Creek Trail. All through       the long summer days here at Sportsman Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Sportsman Lake are in the 20's. Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Central Sierra Nevada. A lake close by is Hatch Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Red Mountain Trail. From                  a rainfall point of view Sportsman Lake is a reasonably typical place; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is July. Chinquapin Lakes is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and a great close by hotel is Snowcreek Resort. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Sportsman Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Trapper Springs Campground is a perfect local campground; the slopes of Sierra Summit are so inviting noone can resist.
