In California there are many beautiful lakes, South Lake is one of them. There's wonderful hiking along the Magee Trail; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Twin Oaks Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. South Lake is not the only site close by, Pechstein Reservoir is a close by lake, and the views at Cabrillo National Monument will blow your mind. And if that's not enough, there's plenty more to do right next door to South Lake.

wintertime temperatures at South Lake fall into the 40's. While you're here at South Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos; dry warm beds await you at Ramada Limited. It is very dry here at South
Lake usually; January is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around South Lake; Mission Trail is a fine local trail, and a wonderful location to pop by close by is Twin
Oaks Valley. A lake nearby is Lake San Marcos. There's so much to do here at South Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Elfin Forest Vacation Ranch is a delightful place for that, and you can make out Double Peak from South
Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Escondido Creek is a great whitewater spot in close proximity to South Lake, and if you need a location to stay Lake San Marcos Resort & Country Club is a great choice.
