Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff close to South Fork Lakes. You'll meet a lot of people from Bishop here, and Cirque Lake is a wonderful lake nearby. Summer brings highs in the 90's to South Fork Lakes with night lows in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are usually in the 50's, and night lows at South Fork Lakes all through the winter generally drop into       the 20's. South Fork Lakes gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is October. Now, you may assume that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Southern Sierra Nevada. A beautiful lake like Cottonwood Lakes next to South Fork Lakes is a glorious place to visit, and Big Cottonwood Meadows is a nice place. South Fork Lakes is located in the Southern                  Sierra Nevada. Cirque Peak can be distinguished from South Fork Lakes, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Lone Pine. Tuttle Creek Campground is a splendid campground nearby; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Mount Whitney Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. South Fork Lakes is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Locust Grove Campground is a great spot to camp nearby, and if you need a site to stay Best Western Frontier Motel is a good choice. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Southern Sierra Nevada is excellent!
