Why not stop by South Basin if you're passing through these parts. While you're here at South Basin it's a delightful idea to pop by Cow Palace. There's so much to do here at South Basin that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain Camp is a wonderful place for that. South Basin is not the only location nearby, McNab Lake is a nearby lake, and if you need a place to stay Mariposa Plaza is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail

| | in the vicinity of South Basin called the Ben Johnson Trail, and on a good day it's a splendid idea to spend the day at Phillip Burton Memorial Beach.
A large amount of precipitation falls at South Basin; during the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July. at nearby Gleneagles International Golf Course is a tremendous way to kill some time; you can stay the night at Candlestick RV Park.
This lake is so wonderful. Visitacion Valley is a magnificent place to spend some time at, and
lots of folks from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont come here. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at South Basin. If you want to hit the beach, Baker Beach is close at hand; Golden Gate National Recreation Area is a pleasant
local destination. Be careful coming to South Basin, you might not ever want to go back home again. Going for a hike on the Temelpa Trail is always a wonderful adventure.
Summertime highs at South Basin commonly tend to be in
the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 50's, and night lows during the wintertime for South Basin tend to be in the 30's. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Civic Center Motor Inn, unsurprisingly you could also go to Twin Peaks Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all.
