A splendid nearby hotel is Best Western Civic Center Motor Inn, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Ben Johnson Trail. So many exciting things right next door to South Basin, just fantastic. All our national parks are splendid sites to take a look at, and Golden Gate National Recreation Area is no exception, and hiking is a popular thing to do around South Basin; Bootjack Trail is a wonderful local trail. After a long       day outdoors Mariposa Plaza is a fine site to spend a night or two; you're probably hooked on lakes, McNab Lake is one of those nearby. South Basin is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; January is the month that gets the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. For you golfers we recommend nearby Gleneagles International Golf Course; from South Basin you obtain a great vista of Bay View Hill. One of the best things about South                  Basin is its proximity to Phillip Burton Memorial Beach. There's so much to do here at South Basin that you need to camp here for a while, Mountain Camp is a brilliant location for that. Nearby lakes? Sure, North Basin is in close proximity to South Basin. You'll need more than a day to discover everything South Basin has to offer, you can camp at Candlestick RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. If you're visiting South Basin from San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, you won't be the only one, and close by you hit upon magnificent locations like Visitacion Valley. This lake is so wonderful. Beaches are good; and Baker Beach near South Basin is no exception, and locations like Cow Palace are great to explore. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are beyond doubt plentiful here at South Basin. South Basin is right by the Temelpa Trail. Throughout the summer months, highs mostly are in the 80's at South Basin. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's.
