Go to Sourgrass Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. All the water falling down from the sky makes Sourgrass Lake a wet place; January is when you get the most rain here; July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody close by loves skiing at Bear Valley. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Sierra Nevada. Stanislaus River - North Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; the Emigrant Trail is a magnificent

But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Sourgrass Lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sourgrass Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sand Bar Flat Campground; you'll in all probability meet some people from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge here. that is worth stopping at. The skiing at Dodge Ridge is fine, and Mi Wuk Village Inn & Resort is a tremendous spot to get some rest.
The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Central
Sierra Nevada will keep you coming back many times. In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Stanislaus River - South Fork, and since you're here at Sourgrass Lake it's a wonderful idea
to take a look at Dry Meadow. There's so much to do here at Sourgrass Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sierra Campground is a perfect spot for that; an interesting thing to check out in close proximity to Sourgrass Lake
is Afterbay Dam.
For the duration of the summertime, highs mostly are in the 80's at Sourgrass Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's, and overnight lows at Sourgrass Lake all through the wintertime commonly descend into the 30's.
