    If you like lakes and you're in this part of California you can check out Sotcher Lake. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at June Mountain since you're here. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Sotcher Lake has to offer, you can camp at Minaret Falls Campground. If the weather is good here at Sotcher Lake, you can go for a hike along the Sherwin Lakes Trail, and you could always look at Snow Canyon. And if that's not sufficient,  
   there's lots more to do in close proximity to Sotcher Lake. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Minaret Falls, and there are other places here than Sotcher Lake, for example Reds Lake.
Yep, outdoors amusing stuff truly is plentiful here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Starkweather Lake is a brilliant lake close to Sotcher Lake, and you can never get enough of the glorious skiing at Mammoth Mountain. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors
 
               just come on up to the Central Sierra Nevada. There's whitewater on Mono Creek for all you adrenaline people. From a rainfall point of view Sotcher Lake is a reasonably typical place; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is June.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Mammoth Rock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and if you're keen on cool geologic highlights try The Buttresses. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend San Joaquin River - Middle Fork; if you need a spot to stay 1849 Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge is a delightful choice.
There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Sierra Nevada. On a good day at Sotcher Lake you can take a hike along the John Muir Trail - section 2, and a pleasant spree to Pumice Flat is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great planet it would be. Dry warm beds await you at Snowbird Condos at Mammoths Canyon Lodge, and you can stay the night at Reds Meadow Campground. During the long summer days at Sotcher Lake temperatures are usually in the 90's; the nighttime is a little colder of course, usually in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Sotcher Lake through the wintertime typically dip into the 20's.
Boundary Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out; the view of Minaret Summit is lovely.
