The winter comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Snake Lake dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Deer Lake Trail, and Packsaddle Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. A pretty lake like Oakland Pond near Snake Lake is a great location to go to, and Snake       Lake is right by the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Playing golf is lots of fun at Graeagle Meadows Golf Course; Mount Elwell is lovely and can be seen from here. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the Butcher Ranch Trail; soar down the rapids of Lavezzola Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant visit to Hawley Meadow is a brilliant way to spend an afternoon, and                  you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Royal Gorge if you're here. From a rain point of view Snake Lake is a pretty typical spot; January is when you get the most rain here, and July on the other hand is the driest. Snake Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you came for an overnight stay Upper Jamison Campground is a good place to camp. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada, not enough time. Deer Creek Inn is a splendid place to get some rest, and get dripping wet paddling on Yuba River - North Fork. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great earth it would be.
