Snake Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. Snake Lake is in close proximity to Plumas National Forest which is a beautiful site. Good hiking is available along the Claremont Trail; Snake Lake is a site with many visitors from Meadow Valley. A great close by great outdoors trail featuring an elevation variation of 1,051 feet is Claremont Trail, a pleasant 2.3-mile-in-distance walk. A wonderful two and a half hours of hard
backcountry backpacking is coming for you along the Claremont Trail. A charming backpacking trail nearby is Cleghorn Bar Trail; it's 6 miles in length and has an altitude variation of 2,074 feet.
We found Snake Lake one afternoon in October by accident. Very beautiful and a little creepy.
