And if that's not enough there's heaps more fun stuff to do in the Klamath Mountains. A good nearby hotel is Baymont Inn & Suites Yreka, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Tanners Peak Trail. Just can't get enough of the Klamath Mountains. The top of Crapo Mountain is easily distinguished from Smiths Lake, and needless to say, this is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes, Pine Lake is a lake close by. | | at all the exciting stuff to do right next door to Smiths Lake. Lakes are tremendous; Lily Lake is a lake that's close to Smiths Lake, and as expected Dollar Creek is a scenic stream that is worth visiting. During the long summer days at Smiths Lake highs are usually in the 90's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Smiths Lake. This lake is so wonderful. | |

A wonderful place next to Smiths Lake is Devils Canyon, and Red Bank Campground is a brilliant local campground. This lake is located in the wonderful Klamath Mountains. Smiths Lake is a brilliant site to visit for more than one
day, Little North Fork Campground is a brilliant site to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is great on Salmon River - North Fork. Smiths Lake usually gets a lot of rain; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest
month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Get wet paddling on Salmon River - South Fork, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Salmon Summit Recreation Trail. Have a good hiking adventure along the Garden Gulch Trail, and everyone loves Dollar Meadows.
