Do stop by Smith Lake while you're in this part of California. This lake is so wonderful. Smith Lake is in the neighborhood of Snake Lake Valley which is positively worth a visit, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Indian Creek Feather Tributary. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. The Cleghorn Bar Trail is a tremendous hiking trail near Smith Lake, and there's whitewater on Feather River - North Fork for all you adrenaline

Near Smith Lake you come across the Finger Board Trail which is a great hiking trail; if you came to camp Evergreen Motel and Trailer Park is a glorious spot to do that. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can visit Smith Lake Dam, and why not take a look at nearby Dutch Creek while you're here at Smith Lake.
