    Beautiful Smith Lake has much to offer visitors. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Man, is there plenty of enjoyable things to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you need a site to stay Chalet View Lodge is a great choice, and hiking along the Eureka Lake Trail is good fun.
For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Smith Lake highs are mostly in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. The wintertime brings
 
   highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows at Smith Lake all through the winter commonly descend into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Fern Falls is a perfect local attraction; on a pretty day you get a good sight of Mount Elwell from Smith Lake. Nearby lakes? Sure, Round Lake is near Smith Lake; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 15.
This lake is so wonderful. Feather River - Middle Fork is a pleasant whitewater
 
               spot near Smith Lake, and naturally, this is a great vicinity for folks who like lakes, Gold Lake is a lake close at hand. A round of golf at nearby The Golf Club at Whitehawk Ranch is a good way to kill some time, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Royal Gorge while you're here. That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Smith Lake has it all. Why not camp at Movin' West Trailer Ranch if you're here at Smith Lake, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Deer Lake Trail.
Smith Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; January is when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So much amusing stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too tremendous to be true. Camping is available at Upper Jamison Campground, and a tremendous spot for whitewater paddling is Yuba River - North Fork.
