Smiley Lagoon is better known as Dog Beach, a leash free area where the San Diego River empties into the Pacific. It is located at the north-western boundry of Ocean Beach, a community of San Diego, California.

Ocean Beach City Beach is a beach next to Smiley Lagoon that you can stop at, and if you've had enough of Smiley Lagoon, San Dieguito Lagoon is nearby. Ocean Beach Motel is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and this is a popular place for folks from San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos. This lake is so wonderful. enjoy a round of golf at Presidio Hills Golf Course. If you're looking for a beach close to Smiley Lagoon, we recommend Dog Beach, and a delightful spot for whitewater paddling is Escondido Creek.
And that's not all you can do
here at Smiley Lagoon. Swamps like Famosa Slough are fun to visit, and Bahia Point is not far at all. If you need a spot to stay Ocean Villa Inn is a good choice; Ocean Experience is a great local campground. It is very dehydrated
here at Smiley Lagoon regularly; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month of the year is July.
The warmest time of the year at Smiley Lagoon arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and all through summer
nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 60's while Smiley Lagoon nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 40's.
