Camping is available at South Cow Creek Campground, and a lake nearby is Arthur Lake. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Southern Cascade Range. Silver Lake is not the only spot close by, Blue Lake is a close by lake, and going for a hike on the Bunchgrass Trail is always a glorious adventure. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Silver Lake. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in

| | the 20's overnight here at Silver Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Pit River in a kayak, and close by you come across the Nelson Flat Trail which is a fine hiking trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things right next door to Silver Lake. Old Cow Creek Campground is a magnificent place to camp; you'll probably meet some folks from Redding here. Yep, outdoors cool things truly is abundant here in the Southern Cascade Range. Silver Lake gets a great deal of water;
January is the month that gets the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. Silver Lake is located in the Southern Cascade Range.

 | 16 miles away Roundtrip Distance 11.8 miles Elevation Gain 2,702 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking.
