Camping is available at Oyster Creek Campground, and don't leave Silver Lake without first going for a hike along the Hawley Grade Trail. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too delightful to be true. Silver Lake is not the only place nearby, Granite Lake is a nearby lake, and Martin Meadow is a perfect place. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Silver Lake. Once the sun is down       it sinks down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Silver Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Sierra at Tahoe is reasonably near. All the water falling down from the sky makes Silver Lake a wet place; through January this area sees the most snow; the driest month of the year is July. A brilliant                  spot for whitewater paddling near Silver Lake is American River - South Fork, and if you get bored of Silver Lake you could also go to close by Oyster Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Mokelumne River - North Fork is a fine whitewater spot near Silver Lake, and if you need a place to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a good choice. You must check out Ferguson Point when you're here at Silver Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Silver Lake; Windmiller Trail is a great local trail. You truly have to go for Silver Lake. A day on the slopes of Kirkwood is just what you need, and the peak of Castle Point can be seen from Silver Lake. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
