    If you are in Amador county it's always a good idea to stop by Shriner Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is pleasant at Bear Valley, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Shriner Lake. Willow Flat is right here at Shriner Lake; on a great day you can take a hike along the Emigrant Trail.  
   Shriner Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Sierra Nevada.
Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada. A glorious nearby hotel is Pine Cone Acre Motel. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Shriner Lake has to offer, you can camp at Shriner Lake Campground, and a great location for whitewater paddling is Mokelumne River - North Fork. Shriner Lake is a wet site that gets much precipitation; the month of January is the wettest with
 
               most of the snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
And that's not all the things you can do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. There's so much to do here at Shriner Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Salt Springs Campground is a magnificent spot for that, and the Hawley Grade Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. A day on the slopes of Kirkwood is just what you need, and nearby you come across the Windmiller Trail which is a great hiking trail. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Shriner Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Highs during the winter are generally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Shriner Lake temperatures sink to the 10's.
