Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a great time. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Yuba River - South Fork; the snow is brilliant at Alpine Meadows. For the period of the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 80's at Shirley Lake. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the       20's to Shirley Lake. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. You'll locate a striking lake called Mountain Meadow Lake near Shirley Lake, and paddling on Truckee River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Shirley Lake, you could also stop at wonderful Needle Lake, and if you need a place to stay Squaw Valley Lodge is a brilliant choice. Hiking along the Granite Chief Trail is tremendous fun, and one of the                  governing characteristics of the surroundings of Shirley Lake is Billys Peak. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a good little trip to Chief Creek, and why not head up to Squaw Valley and strap some skis to your feet. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return back home again. If the weather is wonderful here at Shirley Lake, you can go for a hike along the Big Spring Trail, and you can stay the night at Bear Creek Campground. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Shirley Lake, too wonderful to be true. Going for a hike along the Painted Rock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. There's so much to do here at Shirley Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Splitrock Campground is a brilliant spot for that.
