If the weather is tremendous here at Shadow Lake, you can go for a hike along the Loon Lake Trail; camping is available at Wentworth Springs       Campground. During the summer months at Shadow Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, regularly in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and night lows at Shadow Lake through the wintertime mostly drop into the 20's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Brown Mountain can be spotted from Shadow Lake; if you need a site to stay Village at Squaw Valley is a magnificent                  choice. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of American River - South Fork near Shadow Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Squaw Valley Lodge. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is always beautiful. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Going for a hike along the Red Peak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; needless to say, this is a wonderful vicinity for people who like lakes, Lake Winifred is a lake in the neighborhood. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. Get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Silver Creek - South Fork, and Homewood has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful.
