If you like lakes and you're in this part of California you can check out Shadow Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious spot to camp here at Shadow Lake is Wentworth Springs Campground. Shadow Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All year is a pleasant time in the Northern Sierra Nevada if you love the outdoors. Whitewater paddling

| | is nice on American River - South Fork, and Meeks Bay Resort And Marina is a great location to get some rest.
At Shadow Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Shadow Lake during the winter ordinarily dip into the 20's. Shadow Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. here in the Northern Sierra Nevada, too great to be true. The Red Peak Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Alpine Meadows is quite near.
A day on the slopes of Homewood is just what you need,
and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Silver Creek - South Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Loon Lake Trail, and after a long day outdoors Red Wolf
Lodge at Squaw Valley is a great location to spend a night or two. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Forni Lake in the neighborhood of Shadow Lake, and the panorama of Brown Mountain is scenic.
If you want a great time
in the great outdoors, just come on down to Shadow Lake. There's magnificent hiking along the Highland Trail, and Shadow Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Pleasant Boat-In Campground is a pleasant local campground.
