Seneca Reservoir gets very little rain; most of the rain falls during January while July is usually the driest month. Near Seneca Reservoir you hit upon the Edgewood Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and you can run the rapids of Alameda Creek. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Park Plaza Hotel is a good site to spend a night or two, and lakes are such calm places, why not       pop by Thirtyninth Avenue Reservoir. The good folks of San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont like to hang out nearby. There's so much to do here at Seneca Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Trailer Haven is a great place for that. What a location this is for outdoors folks. There are other spots here than Seneca Reservoir, for example Lake Chabot; dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Oakland. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 40's overnight here at Seneca Reservoir.
