Mountains is unbeatable! The Summit Trail is a delightful hiking trail near Sempervirens Reservoir; Big Basin is a nice location to stretch your legs a bit. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Santa Cruz Mountains
has to offer. So many cool things near Sempervirens Reservoir, simply impressive. There's whitewater on San Lorenzo River for all you adrenaline people, and Boulder Creek Golf & Country Club is a golf course close by. This lake
is so wonderful. A tour to Bulls Spring will fill your soul with great feelings; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Pescadero Creek. Yep, outdoors amusing things to do are beyond doubt abundant
here at Sempervirens Reservoir. Dry warm beds await you at Quality Hotel Ben Lomond, and during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Santa Cruz-Watsonville for sure. Hit the beach if you want, Waddell Creek Beach is practically
right here, and if you get bored of Sempervirens Reservoir you could also explore close by Laguna de las Trancas. The yearly rainfall here at Sempervirens Reservoir is about average; January is when you get the most rain here, and
July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. On a glorious day at Sempervirens Reservoir you can take a hike along the Sequoia Nature Trail, and a lake nearby is Knuedler Lake. At Sempervirens Reservoir throughout
the summer months highs are in the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 50's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Sempervirens Reservoir drop into the 30's.

San Lorenzo River
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO ...ring Camp to the Boardwalk), the river drops into a very scenic canyon with a good section of class III+ whitewater and one hole that flipped our standard-floor raft, in the granite gorge before the Rincon, where the river bends to the left to go around a hogsback ridge. The Rincon (Spanish for bend in the river), a pretty place to pull out for a picnic and some hiking, is part of Henry Cowell State Park and is the last chance to exit easily on public property before Santa Cruz. An old road goes up to a large parking area on Hwy 9 here.
Approaching the Rincon the river spreads out and may be too shallow to float; we had to walk a short distance. Also, at the remains of a concrete diversion dam, teh river splits into two channels. The left-most is the one to take as the right will leave you high and not-quite-dry, though I suppose this may change from year to year.
