There are fine spots to look at along the Glacier Lakes Trail, and Secret Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Jackson Point Campground is a nice local campground. One of the main highlights of the surroundings of Secret Lake is English Mountain, and this is a popular location for people from Truckee-Grass Valley. Having a good time in the Northern       Sierra Nevada is uncomplicated. If you need a place to stay Chalet View Lodge is a brilliant choice, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Fordyce Creek. Secret Lake gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; all through January this area sees the most rain; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Crooked Lakes Trail. There's so much to do here                  at Secret Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Silver Tip Campground is a great place for that. For the period of the summer months at Secret Lake temperatures are generally in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Secret Lake. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Secret Lake. Looking for something close to Secret Lake? Echo Lake is close by, and Royal Gorge is a good local ski area. You're probably keen on lakes, Catfish Lake is one of those nearby; a delightful close by hotel is Deer Creek Inn. Don't leave Secret Lake without first going for a hike along the Grouse Ridge Trail, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Yuba River - South Fork. Be careful coming to Secret Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Soda Springs. This lake is so wonderful. A quick visit to French Creek close to Secret Lake is a delightful idea; English Meadow is right here at Secret Lake.
