Through the summertime months at Scout Carson Lake highs are usually in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Scout Carson Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Camping at Scout Carson Lake is good fun, Caples Lake Campground is a good local campground, and the skiing at       Kirkwood is nice. This lake is so wonderful. Mokelumne River - North Fork is a magnificent whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Scout Carson Lake, and the Hawley Grade Trail offers hiking at its best. A good deal of rain falls at Scout Carson Lake; January is the wettest month with most snow while July is usually the driest month. Scout Carson Lake is right by the Emigrant Trail, and Horse Canyon is also a great place to look at. That right there is a lot                  of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Sierra Nevada has it all. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River - South Fork; if you need a site to stay Mountain Adventure Seminars is a great choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. A great close by hotel is Bear Valley Lodge, and Scout Carson Lake is a nice spot to camp, Woods Lake Campground is a nice spot. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to go back home again. Emigrant Valley is a tremendous location here at Scout Carson Lake, and Bear Valley is a great local ski area. Scout Carson Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Man, is there lots of fun things to do in the vicinity of Scout Carson Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Scout Carson Lake is not the only place close by, Devils Hole Lake is a close by lake, and people from Gardnerville Ranchos love to come here.
