Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. There is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Scotts Lake called the Hawley Grade Trail, and Scotts Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Alpine Campground is a great local campground. A lake close by is Grass Lake, and if you need a place to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is good       at Kirkwood, and playing golf is lots of fun at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Scotts Lake is a location with many visitors from Gardnerville Ranchos, and you can go for a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Scotts Lake. A nice place for whitewater paddling right next door to Scotts Lake is Mokelumne River - North Fork. This lake is so wonderful.                  After a long day outdoors Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley is a great place to spend a night or two; going for a hike on the Charity Valley Trail is always a good adventure. A magnificent site to camp here at Scotts Lake is Kit Carson Campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Maxwell Creek. Scotts Lake is a wet location that gets a great deal of rain; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest of the months is July. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Scotts Lake. A spree to Luther Pass is always fun, and the summit of Waterhouse Peak can be seen from Scotts Lake. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. Get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Carson River - East Fork, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Heavenly is reasonably near. Through the summer here at Scotts Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's.
