If you are traveling by, why not stop by Scotts Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Sierra Nevada. There is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Scotts Lake called the Hawley Grade Trail, and Scotts Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Alpine Campground is a great local campground. A lake close by is Grass Lake, and if you need a place to stay Pine Cone Acre Motel is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is good

| | at Kirkwood, and playing golf is lots of fun at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Sierra Nevada. Scotts Lake is a location with many visitors from Gardnerville Ranchos, and you can go for a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Scotts Lake. A nice place for whitewater paddling right next door to Scotts Lake is Mokelumne River - North Fork. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Carson Campground, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Maxwell Creek. Scotts Lake is a wet location that gets a great deal of rain; the month with most of the snow is January; the driest of the months is July. You'll
wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Scotts Lake. A spree to Luther Pass is always fun, and the summit of Waterhouse Peak can be seen from Scotts Lake. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the
Northern Sierra Nevada. Get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Carson River - East Fork, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Heavenly is reasonably near. Through the summer here at Scotts Lake, high temperatures
regularly reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Scotts Lake drop into the 10's.
