Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Northern Sierra Nevada. And if that's not enough there's heaps more cool stuff to do in the Northern Sierra Nevada. After a long day outdoors Pine Cone Acre Motel is a pleasant site to spend a night or two, and why not a little side tour to Maxwell Creek. At Scotts Lake you always meet someone from Gardnerville Ranchos, and close by you       discover the Charity Valley Trail which is a nice hiking trail. Scotts Lake is located in the Northern Sierra Nevada. This lake is so wonderful. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Carson River - East Fork, and going for a hike on the Burnside Lake Trail is always a tremendous adventure. So much entertaining stuff to do at Scotts Lake, so little time. There is a brilliant hiking trail in the vicinity of Scotts Lake called the Hawley Grade Trail; if                  you like skiing, you're in luck; Kirkwood is quite near. One of the principal highlights of the surroundings of Scotts Lake is Waterhouse Peak; Scotts Lake is a great lake close by. Scotts Lake is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with lots of rainfall; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow while July is typically the driest month. Heavenly is a great local ski area, and a great spot to camp here at Scotts Lake is Alpine Campground. Just can't get enough of Scotts Lake. A wonderful nearby hotel is Harvest Inn-St Helena, Napa Valley, and a golf course nearby is Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. High temperatures at Scotts Lake through the summer are in the 70's, and the night is quite cooler of course, commonly in the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Scotts Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Kit Carson Campground; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Mokelumne River - North Fork. Just can't get enough of the Northern Sierra Nevada.
